Avoca woman charged with cashing ten forged checks

BATH, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - A 23-year-old Avoca woman is facing ten felony charges after it's alleged that she cashed ten forged checks between December 26, 2017, and January 30, 2018.

Katherine LaBar-Bulson was arrested as the result of an investigation conducted by the New York State Police at Bath and the Steuben County Adult Protective Unit, who received a complaint of suspicious activity on the bank account of an elderly person.

Upon the completion of the investigation it was determined that Labar-Bulson, without authority or permission, cashed the forged checks throughout Steuben County.

LaBar-Bulson is facing ten counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, all class C felonies. She was remanded to the Steuben County jail on $100,000 cash bail, and is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Avoca court on February 14.
