Bath manhunt leads to school lock-in

VILLAGE OF BATH, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - UPDATED (5:00 PM): Woodring will be charged by Bath Village Police Department with 1 count of escape 2nd a class E Felony, 1 count of Violation of Sex Offender Registration a class E Felony, and 1 count of Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd a class A Misdemeanor. Woodring will be arraigned in Bath Village Court at a later date. 

Bath Village Police Department would like to thanks all of the agencies that became involved in locating Woodring and ultimately taking him into custody, as well as the local school officials and residents for their assistance. 




UDPATED (12:15 PM): Steuben County Sheriff's Office has stated that the suspect was apprehended shortly before noon today on West Washington Boulevard in Bath.

Bath schools are on lock-in as police look for registered sex offender.

Bath police are assisting the Department of Parole in the search for level 2 sex offender, Brian Woodring.   

33-year-old Woodring was being picked up on a parole violation when he took off.  

Woodring was convicted in July of 2006 with sexual contact, disseminating indecent materials to a minor, and promoting/possessing sexual performance by a child.

Authorities say he's wearing shorts and a t-shirt and is barefoot and handcuffed.
