Congressman Reed Releases 1st Quarter Campaign Fundraising Numbers

(WETM-18) – The race for the 23rd Congressional District is heating up. Congressman Tom Reed has released his fundraising numbers for the 1st Quarter of 2014.

According to a campaign press release, Congressman Reed raised more than $392,000 from January to March. He ends the quarter with over $1,000,000 cash on hand.

Those numbers are up from his fourth quarter 2013 fundraising, where he raised $254,169 and ended with $918,446 cash on hand, an increase of only $6,564 from Q3 2013. That down quarter followed two strong quarters of fundraising, where the Congressman raised $450,719 in Q2 2013 and $554,735 in Q3 2013 while increasing his cash on hand from $246,590 to $911,882 over the same period.

Reed has raised a total of nearly $1.9 million since the beginning of 2013, according to his campaign.

As WETM reported last week, Democratic challenger Martha Robertson raised $325,000 in the 1st Quarter of this year. That was her campaign’s best quarter by more than $50,000. Her total cash on hand sits at over $810,000 following the most recent quarter. Robertson’s campaign says she has raised more than $1,050,000 since the 2nd Quarter of 2013.

Campaign financial documents for the 1st Quarter of 2014 have not yet been posted on the Federal Election Commission website.
