CORNING, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - Corning Community College has awarded Cheryl Wild, a Pre-Kindergarten Teaching Assistant from the Spencer-Van Etten School District with their annual Early Childhood Professionalism and Leadership Award.
Ms. Wild works as a Universal Pre-Kindergarten Teaching Assistant each day at the Spencer-Van Etten Elementary school, before traveling 14 miles to teach afternoon preschool in Waverly, NY.
CCC Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education, Susan Hoobler said of Wild, “Sherry was awarded the Early Childhood Professionalism and Leadership award because she is professional, develops a partnership with her students and their families, and is always committed to learning more about the field.”
The Early Childhood Professionalism and Leadership award is presented each year at a meeting of the Corning Community College Early Childhood Advisory Board.
