Corning couple facing drug charges after traffic stop

CORNING, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - A Corning couple is facing drug charges after a traffic stop in the city Saturday night.

Corning Police said Charles Sweeney, 41, and Julie Sweeney, 42, were both charged with Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine after officers searched their car on Maple Street around 10 p.m. Saturday.

Both were sent to the Steuben County Jail; Julie Sweeney on $5,000 cash bail, Charles on $10,000 cash bail. Police say more charges are expected to be filed.
