Corning fire lieutenant accused of selling heroin appears in court

ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 News) - Thomas Margeson, 43, a lieutenant with the Corning Fire Department and deputy chief with the Horseheads Fire Department, charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree,  appeared in court Monday morning.

The pre-trial hearing was re-scheduled until 3 to 4 weeks.

Defense Attorney, Dan Brennan, asked for more time to review standard motions.

The arrest of Margeson was part of a ten-month long investigation by their Criminal Investigations Division into the sales of heroin in the Town of Horseheads, according to the The Sheriff's Office

Margeson has no comment at this time.
