EPD Investigating Stabbing on West Third Street

ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - Elmira Police are investigating a stabbing that happened in the city on Saturday night. Officers said they aren't getting much help from those involved.
    
It all started when EPD officers got a call about a disturbance involving a knife in the 400 block of West Third Street just after 11 p.m. Saturday.

A witness told officers she saw two black men fighting on West Third. She then saw one of the men stab the other. Both men later took off in separate directions.

Officers found the victim on Elm Street near West Second Street. They said the victim had two stab wounds, both non-life threatening. Police said the victim was uncooperative with officers.

The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Elmira Police Department.
