Historic convent is no more

CORNING, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - A historic convent in Corning is nothing but a pile of bricks tonight.

The building sat next to St. Mary's Church on State Street.

The 110-year old structure was used as a convent until the mid 1970's, when the last sister moved out.

Since then it's been used for a variety of things, the last ten years for storage.

The chapel's stained glass windows were saved and will be sold next April.
