Local Students Swim Their Way to States

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - The nor'easter that paralyzed parts of the Northeast over the weekend didn't stop some local students from jumping in the pool.

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association's 2018 Boys Swimming & Diving championships took place over the weekend at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in Long Island.

Local swimmers, Trent Makowiec a 10th grader from Addison High School, and Mark Eaton a senior from Campbell-Savona High School competed in the statewide competition.

Makowiec took 22nd overall, and 19th for state. Eaton was 13th overall and 10th for state.

An exciting time for some local powerhouse swimmers, their coaches and schools.
