Police Looking For Help Identifying ATM Thieves

GILLETT, Pa. (18 NEWS) - Pennsylvania State Police are looking for help identifying two burglars who stole an ATM from a store on Route 14 in Gillett early Sunday morning.

Police said around 3:30 a.m. two suspects arrived at Woody's Country Store in a red or maroon four door pickup truck. The exact make and model was not released but officers said it may be a Chevrolet or GMC model with dual stacked headlights.

Officers said the burglars broke into the store using a sledge hammer and stole the ATM from inside. They then fled the scene, heading north on Rt. 14.

Police later found the ATM along Monkey Run Road. They said it was damaged and missing an undisclosed amount of money.

Officials said the driver was wearing dark clothing, possibly a camouflage jacket. They believe the driver was at least 6' tall.

The passenger was also wearing dark clothing, possibly a black leather jacket. Officers believe the passenger's height could be anywhere from 5'5" to 5'8" tall.

Both the driver and passenger had their hoods up, wore light colored gloves and may have been wearing masks.
