Series of car accidents send multiple people to hospital

ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - Multiple people were rushed to the hospital Thursday night following a series of motor vehicle accidents in Elmira.

The first came at around 7:15 p-m on the Elmira's Southside, near the intersection of Franklin Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. 

Elmira Police and Elmira Fire responded to the scene to find a red truck inside a residence..

A tow truck was called to remove the vehicle from the house and electricians were on scene checking potential damage to wiring.  

An individual was seen being hoisted onto a stretcher and taken away in an ambulance. Their status remains unknown at this time. 

The second incident occurred moments later at the intersection of Clemens Center Parkway and Church Street. Elmira Police blocked off the scene where an SUV and sedan collided head-on with one another. 

Paramedics were seen transporting one individual away from the scene in an Erway ambulance. Their status also remains unknown at this time.
