Today, Tioga Downs submitted its $1 million application fee for the Southern Tier full gaming license. By paying the expensive fee, Tioga Downs meets the threshold requirements of the New York State Gaming Commission. This is in advance of a mandatory applicant conference.
Bids for the license by casinos are due by June. Operators for the casinos will be selected by early fall.
Last week, Tioga Downs announced an option agreement with the Tioga Country Club, which it will operate if awarded a gaming facility license under the Upstate New York Gaming Economic Development Act of 2013.
