Water Main Break Causes Flooding in Corning

CORNING, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - A water main break is causing issues for the City of Corning and frustration for its residents.

Just after 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Corning Police and Fire responded to East First Street where a water main break caused several surrounding streets to become flooded.

Law enforcement has closed down several surrounding streets, including a part of Dennison Parkway.

The issue was felt across the city with residents complaining of access to little or no water in their homes.

With very cold temperatures on the horizon, there's concern for the flooding to transition into thick ice.

At this time, officials have not released a timetable as to when the issue is said to be resolved.
