Watkins Glen high school student charged after making threat against the school

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - A 16-year-old high school student from Watkins Glen has been arrested and charged with falsely reporting an incident.

The Watkins Glen high school resource officer received a phone call from a concerned student on Saturday, October 7.

The student reported that there was an alleged threat from the 16-year-old male student of violence against the school. 

An investigation was conducted, and the 16-year-old male student was taken into custody without incident shortly after the complaint was received.

Officials say that there was never any threat of danger to the school. 

The 16-year-old student was issued an appearance ticket, and is scheduled to appear back in the Watkins Glen Village court this Thursday, October 12.
