HORNELL, NEW YORK - Six members of the Hornell Dodgers, 3B Anthony Renz (Mansfield), OF Aaron Haag (Southeast Louisiana), OF/IF Sean McCracken (Southern Nevada), C Dylan Dunn (Hagerstown CC), and P's Jimmy Gutowski (Monroe CC) and Chris Jansen (St. Joseph's - IN), will play in Tuesday evening's NYCBL All-Star game at McDonough Park in Geneva. The Dodger representatives will play on the Roberto's Kids squad in the annual event.
Renz is hitting .380 in twenty games for the Dodgers (30 for 79). He has collected ten doubles, two homers, and driven in 20 runs.
Haag is hitting .330 on the year in 21 games (29 for 88). He has collected six doubles, two homers, and driven in eight runs.
McCracken is hitting .302 and has appeared in 26 of the team's 27 games (32 for 106). He has nine doubles, four triples, a homer, and 18 RBI. He has played all over the field spending time in CF, 3B, SS, and 2B.
Dunn has appeared in 22 games and is hitting .295 (23 for 78). He has seven doubles, two homers, and 11 RBI.
Gutowski is 3-1 on the year in 30.1 innings of work on the mound. He has made five starts and has a 1.48 ERA. He has been twice named the NYCBL Pitcher of the Day.
Jansen leads the NYCBL with five wins. He has made seven appearances, one start, and accumulated 26.2 innings. He has a 2.02 ERA on the year.
Dodger head coach Tom Kenney will be one of the assistant coaches for the Roberto's Kids team.
Each of the teams in the NYCBL All-Star game will represent one of the two charities supported by the league. Roberto's Kids is a charity that provides baseball equipment to 3rd world countries. The other team will represent The Second Impact which is a charity that educates athletes of the dangers of concussions.
