AUSTIN, TEXAS (18 NEWS) - Former Homeland Security Secretary and Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge is in critical condition at a Texas hospital.
A representative says Mr. Ridge was in Austin for the Republican Governors Association Conference when he got sick Wednesday night.
Ridge was taken to the hospital where he underwent a heart procedure Thursday morning.
Ridge was assistant to President George W. Bush for Homeland Security after the 9/11 attacks and later became the first Secretary of Homeland Security.
Before that, he served as Governor of Pennsylvania for six years.
