Hawks to send record three wrestlers to states

CORNING, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - For the first time ever, Corning wrestling will send three wrestlers to the state tournament.

Last weekend, the Hawks crowned three Section IV champs headlined by Matt Kline, who won his second straight title at 145-pounds. Joining Kline, a senior, is 113-pound newcomer Drew Witham and 126-pounder Chase Daudelin who both took home titles.

The state tournament begins next Friday in Albany and concludes on Saturday with the finals. 18 Sports previews the Hawks run to states after making school history. Full records and 2018 stats below for each Hawk wrestler looking for championships.

Drew Witham, Corning, DI 113-pound sophomore - (34-2) record, 1st Elmira Christmas Tournament, STAC Champion, Stan Elisky Tourney Champion. 

Chase Daudelin, Corning, DI 126-pound freshman - (27-4) record, 1st place at Elmira Christmas Tournament, Stan Elinsky Champion. 

Matt Kline, Corning, DI 145-pound senior - (36-1) record, Elmira Christmas Tournament champion, Windsor Tournament Champion, STAC Champion, Stan Elinsky Champion, defending Section IV champion.
