Corning's Jon Werner Makes All-State Hoops

Hawk standout helped program to first Section title

CORNING, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - After putting together its finest season in school history, Corning boys basketball received some more well deserved hardware on Wednesday. 

Senior center Jon Werner made the NYS All-State Team in Class AA, earning a spot on the 12th overall team.  Werner scored 13 points per game and hauled down nine rebounds per contest, helping the Hawks win their first combined Section IV Class AA Championship. Werner was a versatile player who had the ability to take over games for the Hawks throughout the season. 

18 Sports congratulates Werner on his standout season as he earned his spot amongst the most elite players in New York State.
