Elmira College Skates to 2-2 Tie with William Smith

Meghan Fonfara and Katie Granato scored goals for the Soaring Eagles

PINE VALLEY, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - The third-ranked Elmira College Soaring Eagles women's hockey team and William Smith skated to a 2-2 tie on Saturday at Murray Athletic Center.

The Soaring Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a power-play goal by Meghan Fonfara in the first period and a second period goal by Katie Granato.

The Herons came back in the third period to tie the game with goals by Stephanie Hampton and Taylor Morash.

Kelcey Crawford made 23 saves in goal for Elmira College.

Maggie Salmon made 50 saves for William Smith.

Elmira College is now 16-2-2 and are at William Smith tomorrow at 4:00 pm.
