Horseheads Baseball to Help the Dominican Republic

Blue Raiders to help those in need

HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - For the first time ever, a group of Horseheads baseball players will travel to the Dominican Republic to help those in need.

14 members of various local travel teams in Horseheads are scheduled for the trip July 7th through the 14th. The players seek to help teach the game of baseball, donate several equipment items, and visit orphanages to help underprivileged youth.

You can donate new or used gloves and other needed baseball equipment for the trip at The Higher Hope Church in Big Flats. Each player will present the donations on the trip, play teams from the Dominican Republic and help with instruction on the diamond.

18 Sports takes a special look at the trip and discusses the impact this group of Blue Raiders looks to make on this unique trip in July.
