Ithaca Boys Soccer Wins STAC West Title

Elmira Express falls to defending champs

ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - Ithaca boys soccer secured another STAC West title on Wednesday night. 

After surging to a big halftime lead, Ithaca held off Elmira 5-3, winning its fourth consecutive regular season STAC West crown. The Little Red (10-2) raced out to a commanding 4-0 halftime lead, but put the Express (8-3-1) away for good despite Noah Sperduto's two goals for Elmira. The Express, ranked 20th in the latest state rankings in Class AA, looked to dethrone 7th ranked Ithaca but the first half proved to be the difference.
