Newfield Boys Top Tioga 53-47 to Win IAC South Small School Title

The Trojans will play Union Springs in the IAC Small School championship game

Tioga Center, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - The Newfield Trojans boys basketball team defeated the Tioga Tigers 53-47 on the road in a divisional playoff to win an IAC South Small School title on Monday.

Newfield led 32-24 at halftime.

The Tigers would take the lead in the fourth quarter on a basket by Connor Hutchinson.

The Trojans would regain the lead for good later in the quarter on a basket by Josh Wood.

Greg Moravec scored 17 points for the Trojans while Jacob Humble and Wood each added 10 points.

Pierce Hendershot scored 16 points for the Tigers and Hutchinson scored 14 points for Tioga.

Scott Siberski added 11 points for Tioga.

Newfield will play Union Springs in the IAC Small School championship game on Thursday at Tompkins Cortland Community College.
