Report: Peterman to start vs. Colts

Orchard Park, NY - It appears Nate Peterman will get his chance at redemption.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported late Saturday that Peterman would start for the Bills against the Colts Sunday, just three weeks after throwing five interceptions in the first half of his first NFL start against the Chargers.

Tyrod Taylor has been nursing a knee injury all week. He did not practice Wednesday and was limited Thursday and Friday.

It's possible Taylor will still be in uniform as the backup for the Indianapolis game. Joe Webb is the only other player capable of playing quarterback on the roster.

Many Bills discussed their eagerness to see Peterman get a second chance this week. Richie Incognito referred to Peterman's potential second start as a "clean slate".

It might also be the beginning of the end of Taylor's career in Buffalo.

Sean McDermott didn't need much more than a gut feeling to switch QBs before the trip to Los Angeles in November. No matter what against the Colts, he'll have tangible reason to stick with Peterman for the final three weeks.

If the Bills win, then Peterman has likely proven he can be a functional and winning quarterback in the NFL. McDermott can continue to see if Peterman has long term potential without pushing aside the chance at a playoff run this season.

If the Bills lose, than playoff hopes will, for all practical purpose, be extinguished. There's no harm in continuing to run Peterman out there and see if he can rectify whatever issues plague him.

Either way, the Peterman Era seems set to resume this week.
