(NBC News) – Several members of the Minnesota National Guard were injured in an attack in Afghanistan on Monday.

The Minnesota National Guard spokesperson Lt. Col. Kevin Olson says the five members from the Litchfield-based 849th Mobility Augmentation Company were injured during an attack on forward operating base Pasab in Kandahar Province.

Olson says one soldier was taken to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.

The other four members are recovering in Afghanistan.

While officials have not formally released the names of the soldiers, local affiliate KARE is reporting that Robbie Sheets is one of the five.

According to KARE, Sheets told his grandmother that he took shrapnel in his back but is expected to be released from the hospital by this weekend and will rejoin his unit.
