June 22, 2014 is Bill Gallow Day. The Chemung County Legislature has named it such. Gallow has served on the Van Etten EMS force for 60 years. The fire department along with his closest friends and family came out to show appreciation and gratitude for his dedication on the EMS force.

One retired fire chief thanks Gallow for getting him interested in this type of service. Steve Hall said, “I think the world of both Bill and Mary. They have given so much time and their life to this town, its pretty impressive.”

He was presented with a proclamation and a flag which was flown at the White House in Bill Gallow’s name. Gallow is still volunteering on the Van Etten EMS team and says he looks forward to it every day.
