Clermont Reassigned to Albany

The Elmira Jackals announced today that goalie Maxime Clermont has been reassigned by the New Jersey Devils to the Albany Devils.
ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Elmira Jackals announced today that goalie Maxime Clermont has been reassigned by the New Jersey Devils to the Albany Devils and Russ Stein has been added as an emergency backup goaltender.

Clermont, 22, has appeared in two games with Albany this season. He holds an 0-1-0 record with a 2.00 goals-against-average and a .923 save percentage. This will be his second stint with the Devils in the 2013-14 campaign. The Jackals activated Clermont from the 21-day injured reserve on Friday. The Montreal, Quebec native suffered a lower-body injury in the second period of January 17th's game at Fort Wayne. He missed 13 games while recovering from his injury. Clermont has dressed the last two games but has not played since he was injured. The third-year pro from Montreal is 6-9-1 this season in Elmira with a 3.34 goals-against-average and a .892 save percentage.

Stein, 24, was released as Elmira's emergency backup goaltender when Clermont was activated from the 21-day injured reserve. The Ridgefield, Connecticut native has appeared in two games with the Jackals this season. He stopped 14 of 15 shots in the third period on January 17th in relief for the injured Clermont.
