ALBANY, N.Y. (WETM-TV) - New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is set to introduce new legislation that he hopes will help veterans and their families.

The new bills are part of a veterans' summit the governor held this year. They allow for in-state public tuition for veterans receiving benefits under the GI Bill. It also gives military families greater flexibility with professional licenses in other states.

The legislation will allow for adjustments in state testing, ensuring a child graduates on time. Governor Cuomo said this is important because most military children will on average change school districts six to nine times during their public-school career.
