Dozens Killed In Landslide

Heavy Rains Trigger Slide Outside Hiroshima
Torrential rains triggered landslides outside Hiroshima, Japan today.

At least 36 people were killed, including several children.

Rescue workers used helicopters to pull survivors from the mud and debris. At least seven people are missing and there are fears the death toll could rise.

Nine inches of rain has fallen in the area in the past day, about half of that in a one hour period. The nine inches is equal to about a month's worth.

Emergency officials admit they failed to issue evacuation orders early enough and will re-evaluate their procedures.
