The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police have arrested 22 year old Travis Fedock of 247 B Allen Street in Elmira and charged him with Attempted Murder in the First Degree, a felony.
The Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a home on Snell Road, where Fedock’s father lives, in Chemung around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a domestic dispute. Deputies interviewed Fedock’s girlfriend at the home, who told them that a domestic dispute turned physical, and that Fedock had left the home before deputies got there.
Another domestic dispute call came in soon after for a home on West Squires Road, where Fedock’s grandmother lives. Police say they received reports that shots were fired at the home.
When a Sherrif’s Deputy and New York State Trooper arrived at the home, they met with Fedock’s father. Shortly after that, police say they were shot at by Travis Fedock with a shotgun from the wood line, and the police returned fire.
Police say no one was injured during the gun battle.
Travis Fedock’s father was able to disarm his son, and he was taken into custody by police. Police say Fedock resisted arrest and fought with officers, before being taken into custody and charged with Attempted Murder around 11:00 Wednesday night.
Fedock has been arraigned in Town of Chemung Court and taken to Chemung County Jail without bail. Fedock’s father, Stephen Fedock, was arrested for Obstruction of Governmental Administration and released on an appearance ticket.
Police say further charges are pending against Travis Fedock.
During their investigation, police say another family member, Michael Fedock, drove to the scene and was found to be intoxicated when interacting by police. He was arrested for DWI and was released.
