Hobbs Returns to Elmira

The Elmira Jackals announced today that forward Danny Hobbs has been loaned to the club by the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League.
ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Elmira Jackals announced today that forward Danny Hobbs has been loaned to the club by the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League.

Hobbs, 24, returns to Elmira following his first career AHL call up. He was recalled by Binghamton on January 28 and appeared in two games with the Senators. In his AHL debut on February 1 Hobbs scored a goal and added an assist to help the Senators defeat Portland 7-1. The University of Massachusetts product had seven points (three goals, four assists) in his last six games with Elmira prior to his call up. Hobbs ranks fifth on the Jackals with 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 38 games. 

 

Hobbs has joined the Jackals in Elmira and will be available for Wednesday's game against the Reading Royals. 


Additionally, the Elmira Jackals announced today that forward Jean Bourbeau has been placed on reserve and defenseman Mathieu Gagnon has been suspended by the team. Gagnon has signed a contract with the Missouri Mavericks of the Central Hockey League.

Bourbeau, 29, has recorded 17 points (four goals, 13 assists) in 37 games for the Jackals this season.

Gagnon, 21, logged three points (one goal, two assists) in 22 games in his rookie season with the Jackals. He had not played in a game since January 12.
