Holiday Chocolate Pecan Bars

1½ cups flour
½ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup soft butter
1 cup chopped pecans
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup corn syrup
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 tbsp. bourbon (optional)
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Basic Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9” x 13” baking dish and set aside. Beat the flour, brown sugar, and butter in a large bowl using a power mixer. Press the mixture into the bottom of the baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Set aside while you prepare the filling

Stir the remaining ingredients in a second bowl until well mixed. Pour the mixture evenly over the partially baked crust and return to the oven for 30 minutes. Remove, and cool for 15 minutes .Refrigerate for 1 hour before cutting into bars. Cut into 8 rows by 6 rows for 48 bars.

Cook time: 30 minutes: crust, 30 minutes: final bake
