CORNING, N.Y. (WETM-18) - As construction begins on converting Corning Free Academy into apartments it may not be long before the same thing takes place at the other closed middle school in Corning.

Corning-Painted Post School Superintendent Mike Ginalski says the district is on the verge of getting a strong offer from a developer to buy the Northside Blodgett school and renovate it for residential purposes.

Ginalski believes the school board will vote on a purchase offer for Northside Blodgett this year.

Both this school and CFA closed in June with all district middle school students attending the former West High building this fall.
