Jackals Announce 2014-15 Schedule

The Jackals are entering their first year as the affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans.
ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Elmira Jackals announced today their schedule for the upcoming 2014-15 season. The Jackals are entering their first year as the proud affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, their eighth year in the ECHL and 15th season as the Twin Tiers' professional hockey team.

"We are very pleased with this season's schedule," said Jackals general manager Matt Hufnagel. "Having the opportunity to open the entire ECHL season at home is a tremendous honor as well as the chance to salute our veterans with the Military Service Night on November 14. We are also excited to continue the tradition of our December 26 game with the Zooperstars returning for the second consecutive year."

The Jackals open their 2014-15 season at home against the North Division champion Kalamazoo Wings on October 17 at 7:05 p.m. Elmira's first road contest will be in Reading against the Royals on October 25.

The 72-game ECHL schedule features 36 home and 36 away games. The Jackals will play 31 of 36 home games on the weekends. Elmira will take the ice at First Arena 16 times on Friday, 13 times on Saturday and twice on Sunday. The Jackals will also host four Wednesday night contests and one Monday night game - the day before St. Patrick's Day.

Elmira will face Reading 15 times in the 2014-15 season, which is the most of any ECHL opponent. The Jackals will take on the Wheeling Nailers 14 times during the upcoming season. Elmira's first encounter with the ECHL's newest franchise, the Indianapolis Fuel, will occur on January 23 at Indianapolis. Elmira will face the Fuel five times this season.

Jackals Nation will get to see its team at First Arena ten times in a 12-game span beginning on November 14 and ending on December 7. Additionally, the Jackals will earn home cooking throughout the month of March, where they play nine games of a ten game stretch on home ice beginning on March 6 and ending on April 1.

The Jackals will wrap up the 2014-15 regular season at home on April 11 against the Nailers.

All 2014-15 Jackals home games on Monday through Saturday will start at 7:05 p.m. and the two Sunday games will start at 4:05 p.m.
