Japan routs Mexico, advances to LLWS International title game

South Williamsport, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Suguru Kanamori smacked a pair of homers and Japan routed Mexico, 12-1, on Thursday afternoon to advance to the International Championship Game of the Little League World Series.

Hayato Ueshima cracked a solo shot and scored two runs, Ren Takeuchi went 2- for-3 with three RBI and a run scored and Takuma Takahashi and Arata Nishikawa each posted two hits and a pair of runs scored apiece for Japan.

Japan will get a rematch against South Korea in the International title game on Saturday. South Korea scored two runs in the sixth to beat Japan, 4-2, on Wednesday.

Juan Garza launched a leadoff blast to start the game for Mexico, but Japan scored 12 unanswered runs to put it away, plating three runs apiece in each of the final three frames.
