Kate was raised in the very small town of Pen Argyl just shy of the Pocono’s. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Communication Studies from East Stroudsburg University where she was a member of the TV Club, participated with WESS 90.3 radio station (which was recently voted the Number One college radio station in the country), and was an active sister in the national sorority Alpha Omicron Pi.

She knew she wanted to become a TV reporter when she learned she could talk for a living; her nickname growing up was Chatty Kathy- she is quite the talker. She became hooked on the camera when she was the weather girl for her middle school TV station. She would always go around pretending to hold a microphone and ask her family mock questions about a pretend breaking news story.

In college Kate spent a summer traveling abroad in Shanghai and Beijing China. She climbed the Great Wall, ate some pretty wild food, and explored old temples. During her time there she studied Comparative Media; she learned how newspapers and TV stations operate differently in different cultures.

Kate loves playing with puppies, eating chips and salsa, she is a social media junkie, says she spends far too much money shopping for clothes, and loves spending time with her large family.

Kate hopes to one day be a foreign correspondent and report overseas. Her dream would be to stand outside the Saint Mary’s Hospital when Kate Middleton and Prince William’s son, Prince George, is having a baby of his own.
