Lacey Returns To MU As Assistant Coach

Lacey was a five-year member of the Mansfield women's basketball program from 2008-13, sitting out the 2010-11 season due to injury. She was voted team captain prior to the 2012-13 season.
MANSFIELD, Pa. – Mansfield University head women's basketball coach Alison Tagliaferri has announced that former Mountaineer captain Emma Lacey has been named assistant basketball coach.

"Emma has a personal investment in this program and that is something intangible that will help immensely in the future" explained Tagliaferri. "She brings a strong work ethic and an eagerness to get out on the road and recruit. I am excited to work with her and continue to build this program."

Lacey was a five-year member of the Mansfield women's basketball program from 2008-13, sitting out the 2010-11 season due to injury. She was voted team captain prior to the 2012-13 season. The Catasaqua, Pa. native appeared in 83 games during her career.

Following the 2013 season, Lacey was awarded Mansfield's Glen Jackson Memorial Award for selflessness, loyalty and character.

Lacey earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in mass communication with a concentration in public relations from Mansfield University in the spring of 2013. She also earned a minor in Marketing.

During her tenure at Mansfield, Lacey was involved with the NCAA Pink Zone program, National Student-Athlete Day, JDRF Walk for a Cure, Sweep the Streets, Wellsboro Area Youth Soccer and was a volunteer reader at Warren L. Miller Elementary. Lacey also served as an administrative work study student for the Mansfield athletic department where she assisted in fundraising sales and organized camps and tournaments.

Following graduation, Lacey worked as a human capital management sales consultant for Automatic Data Processing in Allentown, Pa.
