Moneyball: Hornell Grad, Schwartz Drafted by Oakland

After completing his junior year at Niagara, Jordan Schwartz was drafted by the A's in the fourth round of the MLB Draft.
HORNELL, N.Y. (WETM) - Jordan Schwartz did it all when he was a Red Raider.  Whether it was on the gridiron, or the diamond, Schwartz greatly influenced the outcome of each game.

The Oakland A's are hoping that continues.

The Bay-Area team came calling in the fourth round of the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft.

Prior to that, Schwartz, who started 14 games this past season, collected 109 strikeouts, while finishing with a 5-6 record, and a 3.12 ERA.

When he wasn't on the mound, he was making it tough on opposing pitchers.  The Hornell native batted .258 for Niagara University in 2014.
