Owego PBA Says No Overnight Police Coverage During September

OWEGO, N.Y. (18 News) – The Owego Police Benevolent Association (PBA) has notified the Village of Owego that there will not be overnight police coverage during the month of September.
OWEGO, N.Y. (18 News) – The Owego Police Benevolent Association (PBA) has notified the Village of Owego that there will not be overnight police coverage during the month of September.

The announcement was made Friday afternoon. The PBA says that for the month of September, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., there will be no police coverage in the Village of Owego. The PBA says they had attempted to warn the Village Board and residents this would happen without enough full-time manpower in the department.

Calls made between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. during the month of September will be handled by either the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office or New York State Police.
