Thomas A. Edison Wins the NYSPHSAA Softball Class C Championship

Spartans win their 1st Championship since 1991, defeating Greenwich 6-2 in the Finals.

SOUTH GLENS FALLS, NY - For the first time since 1991, the Thomas A. Edison Softball team are State Champs.  The Spartans defeated Greenwich (Section 2) 6-2 in the NYSPHSAA Class C Championship.

TAE fell behind 1-0, but the Spartans roared back, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning.  The Spartans would tack on 2 more in the second, cruising to a 6-2 win over the Section 2 Champs.

In the Semi-Finals, Thomas A. Edison's McKenzie Slaven tossed a gem, allowing only 5 hits in a complete game shutout.  Molleigh Malanoski drilled a solo HR, as the Spartans downed Section 5 Champ Bolivar-Richburg 2-0.
