Towanda Remains On Top Of NTL

Towanda runs its NTL record to 10-1, after a 48-35 win over Athens on Thursday night.
TOWANDA, PA. (WETM) - Thursday saw Athens try and bring Towanda down a notch in the Northern Tier League standings.  For one quarter, it looked like the Wildcats would do just that.

Athens used their height inside early lobbing it in the Dan Moyer, who was able to cash in on some quick points in the paint.

The Wildcats had worked their way up to a 13-8 lead at the end of the first.

In the second, the Black Knights showed up.  David Rodenhizer was able to cut down the lane for the quick lay up, and cut into the Wildcats lead.

Towanda's press seemed more effective in the second, as they were able to force more Athens turnovers, which would lead to more Towanda points.  Rodenhizer and Noah Huff finished with 15 points each when it was all said and done, as the Black Knights bested the Wildcats, 48-35, to move to 10-1 in NTL play, while the Wildcats slip to 6-3.
