Andy Malnoske

Malnoske is an Emmy® Award-winning journalist and three-time Emmy® nominee. Andy is the first Emmy® winner in Elmira/Corning/Ithaca television market history, which spans nearly 70 years of broadcasting. Andy is also the first-ever Edward R. Murrow Award winner in Elmira broadcasting history for sports reporting. He joined Channel 18 as sports director after working at WSTM-TV in Syracuse where he covered the historic Final Four runs by the SU men’s and women’s basketball teams in 2016.

Andy worked on “The Orange Zone,” a weekly take on Syracuse football and basketball, covered Washington Nationals minor league baseball and Tampa Bay Lightning affiliate hockey while in Central NY. A proud Horseheads native, Andy’s thrilled to return home and work for the station he grew up watching. His work has earned him several NYS AP Broadcast Awards for best anchor, photographer, and select feature stories, multiple Syracuse Press Club best story honors & Ithaca College’s young alumnus of the year.

A proud graduate of Ithaca College, Andy also earned a master’s degree at Shippensburg University. In south-central Pennsylvania, he was the voice for several Red Raider athletic teams, worked in the sports information office, assisted CBS Harrisburg and created a documentary on the 1990 Shippensburg Little League National Champions, which is now in the Little League Baseball Museum archives.

Andy also serves on the board for the Chemung County Sports Hall of Fame, is a play-by-play voice for ESPN+ and has been a voice for 1410 WELM ESPN Radio in Elmira and RLM Sports in Corning. Andy is a play-by-play announcer for Cornell University wrestling and lacrosse, and he’s also called Big Red women’s hockey, Elmira College athletics, covered The Super Bowl, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and more in his career.

A pro wrestling enthusiast, Andy is a two-time announcer audition finalist for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and his work has appeared in Pro Wrestling Illustrated Magazine & the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum. He’s also ring announced for a Rochester-based pro wrestling promotion, IMPACT Wrestling and made his first WWE announcer appearance at Elmira’s First Arena for a SmackDown Live event.
