Grant Chungo joined the team as the weekend morning meteorologist here at 18 News. Moving from Tampa, FL after interning at Fox 13, Grant is excited to begin his broadcast career here in the Twin Tiers.
Grant was born and raised in Loudoun County, Virginia in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. During the winter months this area is commonly threatened with winter weather events which initially hooked Grant into weather.
Grant grew up actively competing in the equestrian sport of show jumping. He traveled the country competing his horses all while continuing his education at George Mason University. He excelled in the sport of show jumping, reaching the top level of the sport by the age of 19 with his main horse. After this success he decided to turn his attention back to his other passion, the weather, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Science from GMU.
While not at the studio, Grant enjoys keeping busy outside and finding new ways to exercise. Grant also enjoys being social and meeting new people so feel free to reach out via Facebook or email!
