Jordan Norkus

Jordan Norkus joined the 18 News team in December 2019 where she currently works as the primetime evening news anchor.

A true New Englander at heart, Jordan hails from Waterbury, Connecticut. Before making her way to Elmira, She interned and later worked as a freelance reporter for WSHU Public Radio—Connecticut and Long Island’s NPR-affiliated radio station. She beat reported on Connecticut’s legislature and delivered her stories to approximately 300,000 daily listeners.

Jordan graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2018 with a B.A. in Media Arts (Concentration in Journalism) and Theatre Arts (Concentration in Musical Theatre). She furthered her education at Sacred Heart for another year and received her M.A. in Broadcast Journalism and Media Production in 2019. She was involved with the student-run TV news program and newspaper, among several other media-related clubs and activities. She also played leading roles within the university’s theatre arts program, through which she was nominated for six BroadwayWorld Awards.

When she’s not working, Jordan enjoys eating pasta, binge-watching TV shows, spending time with her bearded dragon, Drogon, and cheering on the New England Patriots.
