
Rhea Jha joined the 18 News team in June 2021 and is currently the weekday evening co-anchor, anchoring the 5, 6, 10, and 11 p.m. newscasts
Born and raised in New Jersey, Rhea is a recent graduate of Penn State University double majoring in journalism and history, minoring in international studies, and earned a Smeal College of Business Certificate. During her time at Penn State, Rhea was a news reporter and anchor for a student-run newscast, Centre County Report, as well as an anchor and co-host for Penn State President, Eric Barron’s monthly talk show, Digging Deeper.
Prior to her time at WETM, Rhea primarily covered politics. She wrote feature stories about the 2020 Presidential election as it unfolded, and was a live broadcaster for the 2018 National Midterm Elections. One of her stories was nominated for the feature category of the National Hearst Writing Championships.
When she’s not working Rhea loves adventure and especially enjoys board sports like skateboarding, snowboarding, and surfing. In her downtime, you can find her enjoying a cheese board or listening to a podcast.
