Tai joined the WETM 18 News team as our Noon show anchor and weekday reporter in May of 2019.
Tai comes from Gainesville, Virginia, just 45 minutes outside the Nation’s Capital. He has always been interested in performance art, reporting, and the weather.
Before coming to the Twin Tiers, Tai graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.A. in Mass Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism.
While Tai was learning the skills to become a reporter, anchor, and producer, he was also a part of his universities cheerleading team and was a residential assistant. Tai was a part of the student-ran newscast, VCU InSight, which aired on Fridays for the City of Richmond’s local PBS. During his senior year, Tai was the 2019 SPJ Mark of Excellence Award Regional winner for InSight.
Aside from work, Tai loves to relax by watching TV, play with his pet turtle, being around his loved ones, and cooking and baking something up in the kitchen. And when the weather is nice, he also enjoys going out to get ice-cream or relaxing in the sun.
Tai is happy to come to Elmira to start his broadcast career, meet new people and explore what the Twin Tiers has to offer.
