ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – Updated 6:18: New York State Police left the scene at Partridge St. and West Ave., carrying bags of items as well as other tools. Witnesses told 18 News they were interviewed by homicide investigators, but this was not confirmed by police.
New York State Police are continuing their search at two homes on West Ave. and Partridge Street in the City of Elmira on Thursday, according to New York State Police Troop E PIO Mark O’Donnell.
Crime scene tape has been set up around 427 Partridge St. and 319 West Ave., and police in white suits have been going in and out of both homes since Wednesday night.
A witness tells 18 News that police appear to have been digging in the backyard on West Ave. and that police are looking for surviellance video from the area.

Police remain active at 427 Partridge Street as well on Thursday morning.
18 News first learned of the investigation through a viewer tip around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.
