Members of the community gathered at a vigil in Santa Barbara. They gathered to honor and remember the 34 victims of the fatal dive boat fire.
Of the 39 people aboard the 75-foot dive boat Conception, only five crew members, including the captain, were found alive.
Representatives from the community wellness team, the dive community, and local chaplains offered words of condolences and support.
Organizers say they wanted to bring the community together to grieve and heal.
The remains of 18 of the 34 people who died in the boat fire on labor day have been identified, and nine of the names have been released.
Preliminary examinations suggest that all of the victims died from smoke inhalation instead of burns.
The cause of the fire still remains under investigation.
