Our morning meteorologist Stevie joins the WETM morning team from Baltimore, Maryland.
She attended Hereford High school in Baltimore County, Maryland who spent the majority of her time on the cheerleading squad, camping with her family, and practicing ballet. She always enjoyed learning about different weather phenomena every chance she had which made her passion for becoming a Broadcast Meteorologist grow.
Once Stevie graduated from Hereford High school in 2013, she attended Salisbury University along the Eastern Shore in Maryland where she started out as a Psychology major for her first year. She knew she wanted to help people but discovered the Psychology path was not for her. After watching a newscast on television one evening, her parents encouraged her to pursue Broadcast Meteorology. Stevie knew at that moment what she was meant to do and realized she could still help people. She switched her major and obtained her degree in Atmospheric Science with a minor in Communication Arts.
Stevie took part in the student managed television organization at Salisbury University, (SUTV) where she was one of the broadcast meteorologists. She was the president of the American Meteorology Society Chapter at Salisbury University. During the fall of 2016, she was a weather intern at WMDT 47 ABC in Salisbury, Maryland. After her internship concluded, Stevie was offered a part time position as a studio technician at WMDT 47 ABC where she worked with the meteorologists every day.
When Stevie is not at the station, you can find her hiking on trails, out shopping, and spending time with friends and her kitten, Sunny.
Stevie is so excited to start her career at WETM, and is thrilled to live in such a beautiful area.
