Global Taco Joins ‘Guac the Vote’ Movement

Election

Taco lovers who are not registered to vote can get tacos and register to vote, all in one spot.

Global Taco is joining the “Guac the Vote” movement along with other taco trucks around the country.

People who stop by and register to vote get a free side of guacamole. Global Taco provides stamps and people just have to send their registration in after signing.

“Guac the Vote started in order to get people to register at taco trucks and have taco trucks at voting stations on Election Day.” Global Taco owner Sarah Caldwell said.

Caldwell thought since Global Taco goes to multiple counties in the area, it would be a great idea if they also registered voters.

“I think that a lot of people may be a little bit nervous to go register to vote, it’s just one of those things like we don’t really like to go to the DMV, I don’t even know where the Board of Elections is, so this just makes it a little bit easier for people to register to vote and do their one civic duty in America and have their voice be heard,” Caldwell said.

New Yorkers have until Oct. 14 to register in order to cast ballots in the upcoming presidential election on Nov. 8th.
