You may be familiar with the phrase an apple a day keeps the doctor away. well what does an aspirin a day do for you?
We spoke with a Guthrie cardiologist on what the long term affects are like for people that pop that pill on the daily.
A study shows about 29 million people 40 and over took an aspirin a day in 2017 despite not having a heart disease. another study published earlier by jama neurology found that taking low dose aspirins is associated with an increase risk for bleeding from the skull as well as other heart related issues.
Although people without a history of heart problems shouldn’t take routine aspirin, it use is still recommended for heart attack survivors.
